Scholarship Foundation Kicks Off School Year with New Web Site and New Scholarships

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (PRWEB) September 01, 2011

The Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF), a leader in innovative, online scholarship opportunities, today announced it is revamping its brand with a new website and by adding more than $ 13,000 in scholarships for high school and college students in the 2011-2012 school year.

For 11 years the Foundation has been offering unique scholarships that required no essays or a minimum grade point average. The new web site features not only a cleaner look, but easier navigation for participants to participate and win scholarships.

“The Foundation’s goal is to ensure that every high school and college student has a real opportunity to win scholarship money to further their education,” explains Daryl Hulce, president of CKSF and founder of the program. “We provide a wide variety of quiz topics to help level the scholarship playing field and give average students a real chance to win scholarship money that can be used at the college of their choice.”

Participants only have to register once with CKSF for access to a continually updated list of scholarship quizzes. Parents can even take some of these fun quizzes trying to win scholarships for their children by testing their every day “common knowledge.” The registrant must answer multiple-choice questions to demonstrate their knowledge of the specific topic. The annual scholarships are listed on the CKSF website, range from $ 250 to $ 1,000 and take less than five minutes to complete. All winners are determined by time and accuracy while taking the quiz.

For most of the scholarships, the quiz topics and many of the quiz questions are made available in advance via Facebook and other social media, allowing participants to prepare for the scholarships. Students can participate starting in 9th grade and continue through graduate school or until they win a total of $ 5,000. Funding is provided through donations and a grant from a private foundation making the programs free to students.

New for 2011-2112 school year is the monthly “Before You Graduate Scholarship.” This is a one-of-a-kind scholarship that encourages students at each high school to work together as a team to help each other win money for college and a national trophy for their school.

For college students, CKSF has developed the Academic Review Scholarships where business, nursing and education majors take curriculum-specific quizzes just prior to exams each semester. These scholarships help students earn tuition money and prepare for exams at the same time.

Registration is now open at http://www.cksf.org and scholarship quizzes begin on September 1.

Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation’s mission is to create scholarly (educational) and scholarship (financial) opportunities in which participants of all levels have a fair and equal chance to participate and be successful. Developed and administered at Nova Southeastern University through the Fischler School of Education, the CKSF awards scholarships through the use of internet-based quiz competitions. Since its first scholarship program in 2000, CKSF has developed a wide variety of scholarship and academic enrichment programs for students of all ages. CKSF administers new contests each month, has awarded over $ 300,000 in scholarships, has a database of over 600,000 participants and is growing at approximately 500 new students per day.
